18 HR NYS CONCEALED CARRY COURSE

16 hours of classroom time

2 hours of range time (simulation/live fire)

• Firearms safety and safe handling practices

• Firearm and ammunition function and operation

• Cleaning and maintenance

• Range safety

• Holster and accessory considerations

• Concealed carry considerations

• Safe storage and transportation requirements

• State / Federal gun laws / Restricted areas (ARTICLE 265 & 400)

• Effects of drugs and alcohol

• Suicide prevention / recognizing the signs

• Conflict de-escalation and management

• Situational awareness and concealed carry

• Use of deadly force and duty to retreat (NYS Article 35)

• Proper interaction with law enforcement

• Fundamentals of shooting

One hour of range time with company owned firearms for practice prior to obtaining your permit. One-on-one time with our lead instructor using different firearms and calibers to maintain your comfort level

Our lead instructor will meet you at the firearms dealer of your choice and/or make recommendations for dealers to purchase your first handgun.
